The 4 Gs of Well-Being
Game, Groove, Glow and Grind
The Healthy Eating Game
It really is a game… there is the Mediterranean Diet, Keto, WW, eating according to blood type, intermittent fasting, vegetarianism, veganism.
There is guidance by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the form of “MyPlate” which recommends proportions of necessary food groups for a healthy diet. On the other hand, there is the “Healthy Eating Plate” published by Harvard Health Publishing which purports to offer “more accurate recommendations” to follow a healthy diet.
Who wins?
What is not a game are the risks associated with obesity which include high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, and pre-diabetes/diabetes.
What is not a game, is taking care of the one and only body you have for life.
Let’s discuss how you feel about your current eating patterns, and how you might work toward change to win the game of healthy eating for your benefit.
The Body Movement Groove
There are various studies documenting the benefits of exercise. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends 150 minutes per week. As we age, each of us experiences some level of aches and pains and we know some conditions e.g., diabetes, cholesterol are hereditary. We can help ourselves, mentally and physically by incorporating an exercise routine.
How does your body feel?
Let’s discuss the various ways you can incorporate body movement into your daily regime. Let’s focus on what it would take to get you in the body movement groove.
The Mindfulness Glow
Studies confirm stress can contribute to an unhealthy mind, body and spirit.
Mindfulness practices such as breathwork, journalling, expressing gratitude and just being “still” are a few ways to be mindful and improve overall well-being. These practices can control internal stress, help you stay in the present, focus on what things you can control, let go of the foregone past and unknown future.
Let’s discuss how in ‘the midst of the chaos sometimes in life”, you can keep stillness, peace and a glow inside of you.
The Money Grind
Many people live from paycheck to paycheck.
Many people work every day, feel as though they make a decent living, but still feel “broke”, at the end of every month.
Let’s discuss what you know in the money management arena vs. what areas could use a boost, so you are better able to handle the grind.
